Clayton Lovell has been a community volunteer for over 35 years
serving as president or in positions on the Board of Directors of organizations like The Winston-Salem Jaycees, The North
Carolina Jaycees (FOYM-1977), The United Way, United Family Services, The Workforce Development Board, The Salvation Army
Boys and Girls Clubs, The Urban League, The Advisory Council for People with Disabilities, The Minority Supplier Development
Council, The Mayors Commission for People with Disabilities, Goodwill Industries and many others.
In his career with
Wachovia Bank spanning almost 20 years Clayton was a pioneer in the Audit Department, the Retail Banking Department and the
Personnel Department. During his banking career he was certified to train in several disciplines as a facilitator or leader
in Management Development Programs such as Process Management Skills and DDI. During his employment he served as Regional
Personnel Manager of the Northwest Region and the Southern Region of the bank.
As the founder of Workplace Effectiveness!,
Inc and Cultural Competencies International, Clayton has developed and presented programs and workshops in the areas of Diversity
Awareness, Sexual Harassment, Team Building, Relationship Building, Planning, Problem Solving and Decision Making to thousands
of employees. His work continues to evolve and build on the feedback and input of the attendees. Management feedback has
consistently been extremely favorable.
His client list includes RBC Centura Bank, The Duplin County Board of Education,
Continental Tire North America, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Gaston County Community Action, The Charlotte Area Fund, Mecklenburg
County DSS-Economic Services and Adult Services Divisions, The Huntersville Police Department, the Mint Hill Police Department,
HR Empowerment and others. In every case, as a group, the participants have consistently given their highest evaluations to
these presentations.
Working with the State of North Carolina HUB Office, Clayton has developed and presented training
programs in the areas of E-procurement and E-Business to business owners all over the state. These seminars increased the
number of suppliers registered and qualified to do business with the state. Technical assistance and resources were provided
to these businesses as well.
Clayton Lovell has started or has been involved in creating several successful businesses
in his 20 years as an entrepreneur. The I Supply Company is the first one, followed by American Product Distributors, CRA
Services and Cultural Competencies International and finally Workplace Effectiveness!, Inc. Additionally, he has helped to
market the products and services of several other business ventures and has served as a coach and consultant to many business
owners.
